Hello everyone,

I recently bought a 2000 I30 with 22,000 miles on it from my local Infiniti dealer in Ardmore, PA. The car is certified so I have full coverage for another 2 years or 72,000 miles. The powertrain is covered for another 4 years and 100k. I have been thoroughly impressed with this car and plan on keeping it for while. I bought this car based on my colleague hammering on me everyday about switching over to Infiniti. He has owned three Infinitis and is our local Infiniti evangelist. My wife and I both love this car. I am impressed by Nissan's engineering. The attention to detail and the quality materials speak for themselves.

I plan on keeping this car for a long time and I don't skimp on preventative maintenance. I am not into cars but do make sure that I understand what needs to be done to keep something performing well. My question here is about the maintenance schedule for this car. If I were to go by the Infiniti Owner's book then there is pretty much nothing to do. I made a list of items with time intervals and I would like to obtain comments from other folks in this forum about the appropriate length and time.

It does not really see any heat and the oil should degrade. It is a completely sealed system.

Please add any other items that I may have missed.

Thanks a lot,Dabral

I like your list but many here contend to make thos intervals tighter despite the recent trend of manufacturers extending change intervals.

Remember no on has an interest in your car lasting a long time ,other than you.

Oil and filter change 3000 miles unless you do all hiway driving on synthetic oil. Some non synthetic oils lose effectiveness in as little as 2500 miles.

Air Filter 24 k miles is ok, I do 15k miles.

Plugs every 60,000 miles (for better mpg+ performance) with .NGK Oem Plat only.

Many here do our coolant every 18 months-- a rdaiator can last forever if it is frequently flushed and usoijng no tap water ( mix distilled water w/ the ethylene glycol)

Hmm, I am not sure your I30 has spark plug wires isnt it distributorless ignition? (I amy be wrong am a Q45 guy).

I completly have brakes bled, at least one per year with Valvoline SynPower DOT 3/4 brake fluid ( best off the shelf brake fluid)
