I have always been wondering how to change my 1997 stereo system with out changing the speakers. i just want another stereo but i love the sound of the bose system.? Can any one help.?

There are tons of articles in this forum and online about this subject.

Basically, the Bose speakers need a stereo made for Bose speakers. You can work around that with a few adapters, but from my understanding, they don't work well and you risk damaging the speakers.

What's wrong with your stereo?

I just went to my local car audio store and bought the harnes that pluggs directly into the car and it workes fine. I put a pioneer stereo in it and it sounds better than the factory bose.

Interesting.

How much was the harness?

I bought a 97 HU on ebay and had it repaired and I miss my original HU.

I think it sounded more analog and less digital. I HATE all of these damn audio manufacturers that went to pure digital sound.

Sound waves aren't a bunch of on and offs.
