I inherited a 99 I30 from my wife. I was impressed with the v-6 power but this thing has a wierd shimmy in the front end. The tires are fairly new and I had the shop where she bought them re-balance and rotate with no change. Could this be a strut issue?

I would check the alignment and speak with the tire shop that balanced the tires to make sure none of them were "not true". I have had this happen before with a tire that had a bad belt as well.

Funny that you should mention this about the belts. The wife had 2 tires replaced because of shifted belts.

IMO, that is one of the most common problems with front shimmy.
