i picked up some i30 dual fans from a local junkyard. and well i've discovered these fans have a low and high level. well there's 4 wires for 2 sets of wires for each level on each fan hence the two levels of power. so all in all there are 8 wires. 1 high, 1 low for each fan. now my questions are which levels should i use? and how can i wire these to where i wont have to use a toggle switch? As of right now i have a wire tapping the power to the radio, so when i turn the ignition on, the fan comes on too. but im afraid this wont be able to power the 2 fans and radio.. im aware of ppl wiring to the water temp sensor or the a/c unit. but i do not have a/c in my car. is it still possible to wire it to the a/c? im not sure.. what about the water temp sensor? also i cannot afford to buy a fan controller, this is why im asking you guys about an easy simple way to wire these fans up. any help is appreciated alot. ive searched also and seems nobody has the i30 fans or didnt do a write up about them.

Fan controller is the proper way. Easy simple way will not be on/off automatically. If anything it would be car on/fan on like how you have it key on/fan on. Which is more important, budget or function?

Even the cheapest are over $125 based on what I've seen. So, IMHO it isn't exactly affordable...
You really are opposed to wiring a switch on the dash? Cost effective, and not constantly running...

well I recently switched to e-fans myself and I used the clip from the acc condenser fan which only turns on when the thermostat opens up and off when it closes. Since you have to delete the acc fan to mount the E-fans to your rad you'll have the clip available just cut the wires from the fan and use the clip for the plug and play leisure.
However, This is only temporary until my rb25 swap when i will be running a fan controller which is the right way to do it, but for temporary use you should be fine using it.

I'll post pics up later today.

I don't understand how it's supposed to turn on/off after the modification. I'd like some clarifications/pictures as well. Thanks for helping!

What does the switch operate off of? Coolant temp? Ecu ground signal based on coolant temp? I'm confused...

YEA! im confused too. some input please??? i also figured out that the fans only run on high if you put both +'s together and -'s together. so if you run only 1 + and 1 - then you get the LOW setting :)

its a thermostatic switch that turns on at 175 degrees. if you were to hook a fan up to that you connect your ground to it.
