I have a 99 I30 that sometimes makes a noise when applying the brakes at very slow speeds. I was told this was normal for the abs system. thefirst time it happened I thought I ran over something. Also the ABS light comes on every now and then for no apparent reason. Other than that its a great car no other problems. I've owned it for 2-1/2 yrs and its done this since about the 3 wk that I've owned it. Just wanted to see if this is normal or does something need to be looked at?thanks

im going to assume that you dont get the car serviced at nissan. if you do, then disregard.

get a set of NISSAN brake pads.

almost all aftermarket will squeek to some extent.

i just took off a set of satisfied pro ceramic pads with 1000 miles on them because they got annoying.

i replaced them with OEM nissan pads front and rear with new shims and springs.

squeeling gone.

ABS has no bearing on the brakes squeeking. the most common cause of squeeling is aftermarket pads and a lack of shims.

if you dont work on the car, take it to the dealer.

I also have a 99 i30 and I had the same problem and I hated it and I got the Nissan pads and it did the same thing

then I got the Autozone Albany pads for 20 with the brake grease and I no long hear anything at all

I have had the car for 2 years and change with 71K and it has NEVER seen the insides of a dealer garage nor will it ever and I have never had any problems aside from the expected tire wear and shocks

did you get the spring kit [torque member pad springs, pad shims] when you you did the pads?

if you leave the shims off, the OEM pads will squeel also.
