Hope someone can help. I just changed my alternator on my I30. Next to the wires that plug into the alternator, there is a single wire. I did not notice where it was plugged in before I took the alternator out. I can obviously see where the plug plugs into but am not sure where this wire goes.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If it is a black wire with red stripe (B/R), then it's the main wire that goes to Terminal B (stud besides the 2-pin alternator connector).

Thanks for your reply. It is a black wire with a red stripe, but I can't tell how this attaches to terminal B. Should it have a "ring" end on it that slips on the bolt itself?

The ring of the lead wire goes to the stud and secured by a nut.
