I30 ac not coming on in auto mode (01 model)

No cold air in auto mode (same as econ mode) I had my ac system checked out and everything is working (compressor, freon is good), however the shop I took it to stated that it might not be getting signal from the climate controll. Everything else on the climate controller works heat, recirc, fans, manual mode. They recommended a new controller?? I wondered since I did not get as much heat in the winter with it set at 90, and the engine at full temp, which I though might be termostat??

I am looking for one ebay, but anyone else know what might cause this problem, or an over ride method.

Well, the thermostst and AC are not related as far as you getting cold air or not. The recommendation to get the controller doesn't seem to far off track. Does the AC work okay when it is in manual mode?

It does not work in the manual mode either, when the tech over rode the signal it started, until he removed the jumper.
