I have a 2001 i30 and I can no longer fold down one of the rear seats. The latch pulls up but doesn't release the seat. :wtf2:

Ive never worked on a i30 so I might not be much help here. Most seats have a cable that pulls to release the latch. Maybe look at your other seat that is working and look where the latch is. Then take say a long flat head and a hammer and "open" the latch that is stuck.

Maybe try pushing very hard on the seat to relieve pressure on the latch then pull the latch.

Try taking the seat apart where it is to get to the latch?

My approach sometimes turns into kick until it comes open. Replace broken parts.

Because it's locked jackass! There's a small black slider that disables/locks the seat so that when the seat release is pulled it doesn't release the seat. It's on the backside of the seat. With one seat down I could reach the lock on the other one, or it could be reached from the trunk.

Glad you got it figured out.

I most def. was not trying to aggravate you only trying to help. 30 people viewed your post and didn't comment. I was being honest sometimes you have no choice but to tear up stuff to fix it. Like if a hood latch cable breaks on some cars. Well... your gonna be breaking some stuff to get the hood open no way around it.

Ill remember that if something doesn't open they might have locked it tho. Good stuff. :rotflmao
