I30 2000 acceleration hesitation after cold starting

Car hesitates for 10 seconds or so upon acceleration after sittng overnight or for a few hours, then it drives ok. I changed ignition coils and the condition is 50% better however it still is there. Any suggestions?

Does code P0731 have anything to do with this problem?

I cannot find any info on this on any earlier posts.

My 2000 I30 was going the exact same thing. It turned out that the MAF was borderline and causing the car to run lean especially upon cold startup. The dealer replaced the MAF and reprogrammed the ECU (I guess the MAF's are a bit different now and require a software update) and it's been perfect since then. It code $400 overall, unfortunately. Personally, I think I got ripped off, but it's not like I can flash the ECU myself.

That code, when I looked it up said "A/T 1ST Signal" which indicates something with the transmissions. Perhaps someone else could elaborate on that.
