:( Ok last night driving home I was leaving a buddies neighborhood and as I was pulling out there was water from the sprinklers. It did not even register that i should slow down becasue most people think its just a little bit of water. Well that little bit was enough to make my going bald tires lose grip spin me 180degrees and slam in to the curb with my right rear. Now I need to replace preety much everything that connects the wheel. All the suspension, control arms, everything. Im probly going to sell my car if i damaged my hi-cas steering or any other very expensive part in my rear-end. But I have to replace both wheels on the right side now. All of my wheels are scrached and dinged and im about to get new tires so I figure this is a good time to get all new 16' wheels. So if anyone has a set of 6spoke G35 wheels that they dont need let me know. Thanks and im sorry I wrecked such an awesome car!!! :(

:( Sorry to hear that.

On the plus side, I guess you learned a lesson about wet traction! :P

Wow, sorry to hear about that. Bald tires seem to have that affect when mixed with wet pavement. Keep us posted on the status of the replacements.

That's sad news...:(

I think it will be repairable regardless though those HICAS parts can be found on junkyard if u live in the right area. And get some new tires..;)

wow man, that sucks, i know exactly what u were talking about too with that water, when it happened to me in my altima it was unexpected (of course i was being STUPID and going 11omph) and hit a concrete barrier, cost me $6oo for the new front bumper, and i was VERY lucky, take it as a lesson learned, and get better tires

Sorry to hear of your mishap!

I have had some scary moments in wet conditions. On both my Q's, I detested the Michelin XGTV's for that reason - they would slip and slide easily!

So, for me, performance in wet weather is probably the most important measure of a tire. Hence my choice of Firestone SZ50EP's for current Q. They are outstanding in wet road conditions! :)

Of course, bald tires will not be safe regardless ... :(

I'm really sorry about what happened; however, I am VERY glad to see you are still keeping her. I like the J30's more and more every time I see them. Still won't ever give up my Q though. I am (serious as a heart attack) keeping it forever.

Sorry man...... Just think, you could have been hospitalized had you not been in a big, heavy, safe car........

I also like the J30s, and in certain things I like better than the Q, but i am going to keep my Q forever, and by then I will probably just take the bus.....

I like the J30s styling a little better (i think it would have made a better Q if it was a little bigger and VH45DE'd), and the chrome infiniti thing right below the door frame...

Everytime i read a post like this i pat myself on the back for buying a safe automobile. They may be expensive to fix, but an accident in my old civic would be much more dangerous than the same in my J30.

Plus, you gotta love how damn easy these cars are to work on! I've never worked on an infinity, but a Nissan, is a Nissan, is a Nissan. And I hate working on too many other cars but a nissan. Fixing Nissan's has spoiled me. I used to work on Fords, and now I dread it everytime a friend asks me for help with one. Anyway, sorry to hear about the car, but I'm glad to hear you're staying with the family. Let us know how it goes!

Hate to say it, but the same fate does not go for infiniti..... They are complex, and there simply isnt enough room to carry out simple tasks timely (some jobs that take 4-5hours with the engine in-car, can take 3hours less with the engine out)...

Man that is true!!!!!!!! A job that I thought I could do in like 1 maybe 2 days turned into almost 5 days now. I just keep running into like little problems so its taking alot longer than I thought.. When you say its easy to work on infiniti thats not true!!!!! They are more complicated because the tech. in our cars is so much better than a ford. But the reason it seams easier is ford makes such a piece of **** that alot of other stuff breaks while trying to fix something else, so I can see where you are comming from....

Personally, I dont have much of a problem working on them........ But it makes things 1000xs easier if you have the manual, take pictures during disassembly, and make a plan..... Sure, its no chevy small block, but considering its technology, its not too bad.....

I would say that the engineers COULD have put a LITTLE MORE ROOM!!!

I am at the lakes now, and when I go and work on one of the marine type engines, all you have to do (for a center mounted engine) is take the hood out, and you have unlimited room :drooling:

Makes me want to not go back to the Q!!!

not!!!!!!!
