ok where to starti have a 1992 240sx KA24DEwas driving in the rain and the car started misfiring. so i reved it and it went away. i park the car a few min later and go inside the store. come back out go to start it and turns but nothing. pull the cap off to find the rotor all screwed up. no big deal. happened to be the store i was at was advance autoparts lol. get a cap and rotor and put it on. starts up, misfiring still, and smokes like crazy white smoke. now it isnt antifreeze its unburned gas. pull the plugs and there all getting purple spark and are covered in gasoline. check the firing order time after time and its dead on. checked the timing with a light and its dead on. compression tested it and cyl 3 is spitting fuel out of the sp hole up to the hood. bad injector? so i get a working fuel rail with sr injectors and put it on. start it up and same problem. take the harness apart looking for damaged wires. ohm tested from ground to injectors and ecu and all is good. now heres where it gets tricky. i put the key in the ignition and the check engine light comes on as normal. start the car, with the misfire and its not on. using a very very expensive snap on scan tool find out that im throwing a knock sensor code. no light. no misfire. just knock sensor. figured id try to throw a code by unplugging the o2 sensor. no code no light. hmm...tps knock sensor o2 sensor and misfire and no light OR code. but the light physicaly works....so i go back to the plugs and swap cyl 3(the bad one) and cyl 1 to see if it does anything. sure enough cyl 3 starts firing and cyl 2 isnt....same problem one cyl over.....figure ok new plugs. buy new ngk-r plugs and same thing. cyl 2 now isnt fireing cause of open injector....im thinking ECU went bad? ANY ideas?

replace the knock sensor or try finding someone with an identical computer like yours and swap em out see if it goes away. it might not be throwing a code because it just happened. it takes a computer about 100 miles to figure out if somethings wrong in order for an engine light to pop up

Try to check the distributor, probably leaking oil or there's debris still inside the slit plate, it will mess-up the firing of injectors. Ignore the knock sensor code.

Well first of all you intsalled Sr fuel on a Ka24de that didn't work because ka24de have 270cc injectors and sr20det's have 370cc injectors. It has to be wiring, distributor, fuel injectors or fuel pressure regulator. Also check and clean the maf with approved maf cleaner.

Did you check the plug wires for a bad one? That probably isn't it but it never hurts to look. I'm saying check out your ECU too.

im having this same problem. i switched out the fuel rail with a s14 one because if was flooding out like mad. after the install car wouldnt start. mafs did nothing. resistance on injectors was at 11ohms. i have the same year and all.

altho i took every piece of egr off mine. does your car have egr blocked off? and to the gurus could this be a reason for flooding out?

As long as your EGR is blocked off properly on both the intake and exhaust it would basically have no effect on drivability.

well i have a header that came with a bolt in the port for egr. completely took off the egr valve, rtv and bolted the plate down. but the car is running rich as hell. if i had a vac leak wouldnt it leak out?

the thing my step dad and bro (they dont know didly about tuning at all) are convinced that because we got rid of the two solinoids on the back of the head and the comp isnt getting a singnal from them is causeing the rich condition. are they right?

dont mean to thread jack but were having the same problems so i hope the info im getting is helping the OP as well. two birds one stone therory.
