I was looking at a few s13 pics today, and was wondering why, since they are made in Japan, is the writing on the valve cover in english? This goes for every Japanese car I have seen, even ones not intended for the US market, i.e. sr20 says intercooler turbo? But why in english?

Not a super important question, was just wondering.

It's sold all over the world not just Japan. That's why they have to write it in something that everyone can read and understand.
