I have the same preception too. I guess thats what we get for driving "those Jap cars".Fergus wrote:Bikes are allowed to have as loud of an exaust as they want. Makes up for not always being able to see them that well. But I do think its BS that alot of american muscle cars dont get pulled over. My friends mustang had H pipes and he let me drive it one night. Way to loud, but the cop I didn't see when I passed floring it didn't care. Had I been in the 240, I'm sure I would of seen blue lights
I'd have to disagree.AZhitman wrote:The whole "Loud Pipes Save Lives" thing is a joke, since the sound is primarily focused to the REAR of a rider, not the front.
Are you saying that removing the old exhaust from the downpipe back and then putting 2.5 inch pipe to a straight through glass pack and then realizing its too loud so putting a lower restriction cat in there to quiet it down is illegal? if so. who cares and how are they going to prove it? As for getting pulled over, i think its bs that they don't pull over anyone but us "Rice Burners" and out where i live, what about the piecer trucks that blow your ear drums when they drive by?s13sucksalot wrote:on the subject of motorcycles, they are allowed to have such REDICULOUSLY loud exhausts b/c they come from the factory (idiot shop) that way. Most laws state that any aftermarket exhuast is illegal. Luckily for my most cops in Ok. are more interested in pulling me over for tailgating or something stupid like that... it's some BS...
