Well I just found out today that I will be getting a job soon. I just graduated college and took the summer off untill I started the T-Ten program. The T-Ten program is toyota's 2 year mechanics program that is half work and half class. Well I busted my *** to get straight A's and my work payed off. The program head said I will be working at Lexus of Annapolis. I am happy because only about one to 3 people a year get to go to Lexus insted of toyota. I just felt like sharing to my fellow 240 owners.

Eric

Well I dont know what NJ emission standards are and if there is a visual inspection. They never poped my hood, just put me on the rollers and went. I dont know about a ka-t but the redtop was designed with a turbo and the ka was not so take that as you will.

Congrats! :ylsuper

How much are they paying you? Is the T-TEN anything like the TRD program... and why did you choose Toyota instead of Nissan :)

BTW, my whole family is a big fan of Toyota and I'm the only one with a Nissan.

Family car history:Mom: 91 tercel, 2001 Camry CEDad: 99 Camry, 2002 SequoiaBrother1: 92 Celica, 98 4runnerBrother2: 2002 4runnerBrother3: 2001 Celica GT-S

All cars were bought brand new.

Congrats.

My brother lives in the Glen Burnie area and a friend of mine owns the stereo place on West street. I miss 'nap town :(.

Another trick my brother learned that works great for emissions "by-passing" is to lower your car to the point it can't go on the rollers adn they'll write you a 2 year waiver. He has airbags on his full size crew cab and just drops it a block before the test station.

I will be making about $8.50 an hour while I am in the program. I think the guy who just graduated from the program at Lexus is making about 15 a flat-rate hour. I dont know about the TRD program but I chose toyota because the community college had ford, GM, and toyota. Now it seems like an easy choice doesnt it?

I also heard they wont give you the rollers if you have 17 inch rims, just the idle test.

Congratualtions!

What degree did you graduate with? Have you passed any ASE tests? How do you apply for a school like that?

I wanted to go to a manufacturer specific school, but my teachers and the counselers didn't know anything about them.

I just graduated from community college with an associates degree in advanced engine performance, but I took all the auto classes except for automatic tranmissions. I've also passed 7 out of the 8 A series ASE tests (automatic trannys the only one I haven't taken).
