i went to a few muffler shops and they tell me the same thing....

they said 2.5" exhaust system piping would be 2 big because the car is real low and it would possibly hit the ground so i went with 2.25" which is stock but since thats what they said so thats what i had to go with. what do you guys think of that?

my j is stock suspension and the shop was telling me it would be big and im like uhm how its not like i wanted 3" now. but i guess 1/4" more isnt gonna make much of a difference anyway. i just wanted 2.5" cause i heard you get better flow and a slighter increase in power.

Are those results dyno test proven?

A 1/4 of inch isn't a problem, i would see another shop.

i dont know but i figured the stock piping on the j is 2.25 so if i go 2.5 it will open up more flow and give a lil increase. i was pissed i had to redo my exhaust with the same old 2.25 but i threw on 2 hi flow cats 2.5" with a y-pipe goin str8 back to a megan racing carbon fiber muffler with a 4" titanium tip and removed my whole stock exhaust system. i have no resonators either. just 2 hi flow cats and 1 muffler so im sure its freed up more power now better then it was with stock and dropped a lil weight and it sounds nice and deep not raspy.

i paid $150 for the megan racing muffler itself its universal so it will work with the j30 but the thing is megan racing is a real brand! please whatever you do dont go buying one off ebay thats not a brand name it will make your system sound like crap. people said my exhaust sounds similar to if you did it to a 300zx. i paid $102 with shipping for two 2.5" hi flowmonster cats off ebay, and the shop buy me charged me only $150 with there pipes and installation. and yea it sounds really good nice and deep no raspyness or fart can ugly honda noise lol

LOL, I will google Megan racing for the site when I get home from work. That is hilarious about the Hondas. My other car is an Acura Integra 95, nothing like all the others. It's got a deep tone, duramax special from advance. haha. Thank you for the advice I appreciate it.
