I bit the bullet yesterday and traded in my school bus (F250 diesel) for a 2006 350Z touring in magnetic black.
So now I have two Z cars (for now). After I finish painting the 93' I am thinking of selling it to buy a smaller super crew
pickup. I am torn though since my 93' is super clean and I just pretty much blueprinted the body and will have a fresh coat
of Viper red base/clear paint on it this week. I love the car but man I need a truck too (just not a tractor trailer truck like I had).
Life is full of tough decisions man.
Best part of all is I am saving on fuel, saving on auto insurance, saving on tires, and even paying $100 less per month on payments! I would have never thought that a truck would have such a higher cost of ownership than a sports car of the same year model...

Awesome another Z owner in here! That thing looks super-clean. You should get some floor mats to keep the interior carpet in good shape though, they're cheap enough that I'm actually going to pick up a second set to keep mine with the 35th Anniversary stitching in good shape.

Looking at the taillights and rear turns it looks like the previous owner was going for the blacked out look, you plan on continuing by pulling the door handles and wheels and going darker with them?

Welcome to the club! :badger

I may,money permitting of course.
What is the usual fix for the finish wear on the center dash console and door handles?
I also have already been hit with the bose cd changer curse after only a few mins of using it..
Now I am stuck with the radio and have three cd's hung up in the head unit. Why oh why does Nissan still use these crap stereos?
I wonder if doing a swap is going to be a pain like with the last gen 300ZX's? I have the factory sub as well so I guess its all amplified and won't work with anything but the factory head unit right?

I've heard a lot of people using some of the 3M wrap sheets (usually carbon fiber) to cover up the worn interior pieces, that's what I'll probably go with once mine starts to get worn.

I know what you mean about the Bose unit, which if I recall is actually made by Clarion, mine is hit and miss. I've got so much music ripped to my phone though that I just use a cassette adapter most of the time anyway. Once I get a new phone I'll probably get a Bluetooth FM broadcast unit so I don't have to deal with any wires, and I can do hands-free calling.

OEM replacement units show up on FeeBay from time to time, I was going to go that route since I've got factory Navi and it's tied in through the radio. Kuhan has a great thread on here showing the upgraded stereo he installed. Pretty in-depth install with plenty of photos, it's certainly worth a look if you're looking at upgrading. :yesnod

Good suggestion on the upgraded head unit. I have a decent Sony I pulled out of the truck before I traded it in that should do until I get a better unit.
About those dash wraps, are there any brands that are better than the others? I have seen some that you can really tell they look like puffy stickers when applied. I would like to have some that were more flush looking and not look like stickers.

Sorry for the posting delay. There are more than a few vids out there showing people finessing various adhesive vinyls. I've done it on some non-automotive pieces for temporary retail displays. The two things that it requires to do properly are a heat gun and patience, the first used sparingly and the second in abundance.
