Heres the scoop, I've read lotsa archives. On both the SR swap, and the turbo'ing the KA.

Now, having my bro relocating across the couuntry to live with me to work and get some experience - i let him drive the 240 to work everyday and whenever he needs it. I can not describe to you how much of a liking he is taking to that lil car.

He is hell bent on doing an SR swap or something for more power. I told him to relax because I wanted to look into it a bit more so here goes.

The car got about 110k on it. Never driven hard till we got our hands on it. :D My bro is deadset on buying this car off of me before he goes back home to go to school (although he may be staying out this way)

If we were to turbo this lil motor, and I mean low boost, 7 psi tops...what are bare neccessities to get for this to happen? Whats the best route to go? This is not something we'll get boost happy with.

Thanks for you help..

I'm just wondering, and this seems like a no brainer question...but my ka currently burns a wee bit of oil. she isn't bellowing out blue smoke or anything but yes, she likes her extra fix of oil from time to time.

would that motor be safe under low boost? i know most would be like rebuild!! rebuild!!

I would rebuild. Its cheaper than having a hole in your block...or worse.

If it does nothing else, it gives you peace of mind. Plus you have a chance to maybe give the head a port and polish job to free up some extra hp.

Bare essentials IMO,

T3/TO4E 50 trim, .63 ARexhaust manifolddownpipejunk yard intercooler, Supra MKIIIpiping for intercoolerRRFPR1 pressure and 1 oil return line

That will get you going in the right direction, shoot me an email if you need anything else answered.

As far as oil consumption goes, do a compression test. If its decent then boost away, if the motor goes tits up, you can just swap in another E model, or even upgrade to the DE.
