I did, and the car runs a lot better. Only bad thing is that the AEM series 1 EMS ECU doesn't have very efficient knock control, and so if you want it turned on (on an SR) you're pretty limited in power. I actually lost 40whp by turning it on (the ECU is throwing a fit past 19psi), so I'm now stuck at 425whp/306tq until I get a newer ECU. I'd rather have the safety of knock control than to turn it off and hope the tune is spot on perfect for all driving condition variables, lol. The good news is that it holds around 300tq from about 4.5k till 8k (self imposed redline is at 8.5k). I actually hit 19psi at 3,500 RPM, which is very nice (tested today going uphill in 5th gear), even though the dyno plot says I don't hit 19psi until 5k, lol. I'll be posting the new dyno sheet soon. Car runs solid (Did a drag strip Friday, and auto-x today), so I'm fairly happy with it.compactfean wrote:Glad to see she's still alive! You ever make it back to the dyno for some final tuning?
I'm serious when I say that the car looks 100x better in pictures/video than it does in person. For some reason (prob because it's white) the lens is kind to the car, lol. I actually prefer the looks of the S13, but the S14 is a better car overall for a racing platform. Even though it weighs a couple hundred more pounds (or so).mechanicalmoron wrote:That's awesome.
Except the bits saying your car looks bad, and that you're going to kill it in favor of an s14. It looks great, other than that little bit of paint, and one dent that I saw. Paint it!
Me too. Im always jealous when i see an S13 coupe rolling down the street. I've even considered trading my S14 for an S13 coupe2_Liter_Turbo wrote:...lol. I actually prefer the looks of the S13...
As I said before, the S14 rear subframe swap bumps you a class in all kinds of different racing. I already own the S14, and the car is in much better shape than the S13. I think the S14 can still look great if done right.mechanicalmoron wrote:You could spend that s14 money on s14 suspension parts and adjustable bits, and get the track width and such, but in the lighter, way better looking chassis.
s14s look like they should have a lexus logo on the front. s13s look like sports cars. And the coupes even manage to look like mature sports cars.
