... had just like popped up outa nowhere! So seeing this new shop called "Kamakazi Motor Sports" I naturally stopped in to visit since there are no shops like this anywhere around here. I pull into the parking lot and this guy comes out of the garage and introduces himself and lets me know that they will actually be opening this Friday to 19th.

I tell him about my Q (I was driving my Neon looking for a place to fix my Q) and he says come on in and check out the shop. I go in and see 4 beautiful cars. This shop fixes and builds engines for domestic and foreign cars and they had 2 sub 10 sec 1/4 mile cars just waiting for me to look at. One was an Eclipse and the other was a RX7 and was a sub 9 sec 1/4 mile car. Both had Twin Turbo's and NOS shots at something like 27lbs - 20 Lbs (I think that's what he said). They also had a 240 SX out back that was a sub 10 sec 1/4 mile car as well. Anyway I'm floored by all this and so happy that this town now has a Primo race shop with young passionate guys who love to build and tinker and have proven themselves as experts!

Anyway the guy told me they have their frame work sent to a place right up the road and if I needed work done to the Infiniti that I should go their and mention the shop sent me to him. I did, he checked out my car and liked it very much. He agreed to fix it and to paint it. He wanted me to agree to some airbrush work as well to personalize it abit, but I don't want it airbrushed just yet. We worked out a price and my Q is now Officially being fixed by a credible person who likes my Q and it's stance.

Anyway I'm happy and will be posting some pics of some work that Kamakazi Motor Sports has done. That 240 SX is screaming to be introduced to NICO. I told them about NICO and they'll be checking us out..They even had one guy that could help me with super charging my next engine.

That's great Red!!

Where is Moorehead in relation to Charlotte? There's a chance SIMPSON might move me to Charlotte to be closer to the majority of racing teams headquarters. I just don't know if I would like it there, I love being less than 3 miles in almost any direction from the ocean!

AWESOME. Referrals are the best way to find good, honest shops run by people who actually give a crap about cars.

Kevin,Charlotte is like 3 hours away from the beach (max). The good thing about Charlotte is that it is close to Myrtle Beach, ATL is only like 4 hours away, mountains are a couple of hours north/northwest, and the cost of living there is ridiculously low! You can get a McMansion for $300k, which doesn't even buy you a garage in L.A. Charlotte isn't a bad place to be relocated.

Charlotte is closer to the western part of North Carolina which is about 6 hrs away from Morehead City and any part of the NC coast. Being on the coast has spoiled me because I get to see the ocean every day. Charlotte is growing huge now and is 2nd, 3rd or 4th on the fastest growing cities list every year. It's now the Banking capital of the South, taking that honor from Atlanta a few years back. You'll closer to the mountains and NASCAR then anywhere else. Crime has been rising in Charlotte however and a big effort is being made to correct that. Overall it's not a bad place to live.

Next time I see my car, when that work is done, I might shed a tear over how far I've come in reconditioning such a wonderful piece of machinery. Can't wait!

There is a reason that NC is cheap as dirt to live in.....long way to fall Kevin, we pay more cause it is worth it to live in CA. I lived in Phoenix for 3 years, that is as far east as I would care to go! True you can get that 300k masion, but jungle heat and humidity and red necks would eventually wear on you.
