Somone help, I want to upgrade the Rims on my Nissan Versa S. I have the regular 15.5 inch but with them ugly a** hubcab looking things (not alloys_only with the SL)

Whats the best model or way to upgrade the Rims and keep the factory tires?

Any options, I know it has the tire pressure monitor and I was told that if I change the tires it would cause it to read wrong.

I just want better looking rims...

Any options???????????

Thanks!

In order to keep the original tires but replace the wheels, you need to go someplace and get alloy wheels of the same size as the original steelies.

That means 15" alloys (sorry, I don't know the width... but your tire store will) with a 4x114.5mm lug pattern.

You could buy the alloys from an SL, but that will be far more expensive than just going to your local tire chain and buying comparable alloy wheels.

The TPMS sensors on the tires are required to make your TPMS system work correctly. Most places will sell you a new set of sensors if you buy a new set of wheels. However, since it sounds like you don't want to use your old steelies again, you should just be able to have them take the wheel sensors off your old wheels and reuse them on your new wheels.

Thus, you should be able to do this upgrade for somewhere in the neighborhood of $200, give or take.

So does anyone know what the wieght of the stock steelie wheel/tire combo is?

I currently drive a Ford Ranger and I bought some cheap steel wheels and tires for it and my gas mileage dropped a good 3-4mpg and I don't want to go through that again. Also, if I do get a Versa, it'll probably see a few laps at a track.

I was looking into some 19x7.5 6061 A5LW with a 215/35ZR19 tire. The 19" wheel/tire combo would weigh between 34lbs. and 38lbs. depending on the tire I use.

Thanks.

Try http://www.tirerack.com, I just check for you and there are a few rims to choose from that would be light weight and look good and the stock size so you can use your tires if you like.
