In order to keep the original tires but replace the wheels, you need to go someplace and get alloy wheels of the same size as the original steelies.
That means 15" alloys (sorry, I don't know the width... but your tire store will) with a 4x114.5mm lug pattern.
You could buy the alloys from an SL, but that will be far more expensive than just going to your local tire chain and buying comparable alloy wheels.
The TPMS sensors on the tires are required to make your TPMS system work correctly. Most places will sell you a new set of sensors if you buy a new set of wheels. However, since it sounds like you don't want to use your old steelies again, you should just be able to have them take the wheel sensors off your old wheels and reuse them on your new wheels.
Thus, you should be able to do this upgrade for somewhere in the neighborhood of $200, give or take.
