Hey All I want to swap my OEM 17's from my 2000 y33 for some 18's rims from a g37 2008 model year only problem is they are off set in size like 7.5 wide in front to 8.5 wide in back has anyone experienced issues with this in the past? can it be done? I have found some wheels local and its a good deal so was thinking it would be easy with no wheel spacers just bolt and go but the offset is disconcerting as I will not be able to rotate them and this is a new car to me so i am not sure the wear issues on front of y33's. they have also been painted black on the inside and have been re-coated, the rubber is good on two bad on other two, the guy wants $550. any and all info greatly appreciated!

What you're probably referring to is not the offset but the rim width.

To answer your question simply, yes it can be done and no wheel spacers needed.

Y33 can take some wide wheels, there is plenty of room in the wheel wells for some wide rims.

I'm currently running 18x8 in front and 18x9 in the back without any issues and they seem to be a little small (as far as width goes).

So yes, you could run 8.5 without any problems, but you would probably want some spacers if you want it to look anything close to flush.

Ok great, i think a 1" spacer would be a bit much though don't you think? Do you have any pics of your car as it sounds like you have exactly the same setup as I am thinking about putting on.

a ET28-33 is desirable up front although one can use ET35 on a 9" wide wheel, barely.

7.5" wheel width is not worth the trouble. 8.5" - 9" is.

With 7.5 up front you would want to run spacers, if I'm not mistaken G37 wheels have the offset between 38-44 which is not the most agressive one out there. Maxnix is right offset in the 20's would be preferable.

I do not have the same set up as you are thinking about putting in, I run Work Eurolines on my Q. But I've seen many pictures where people had other Nissan/Infiniti wheels on their Q's I've seen plenty of Y34, F50, 350Z,and FX wheels.

If it were me though, I'd probably wouldn't bother with 7.5

ET25 will rub up front with any drop or decent wheel or tire width.

(y33 2000) 107K. Well decided to just get new tires as the old were shot due to camber issues, oem 17" are good enough for now. Problem is that the alignment is crap there is some bad camber in the back and they adjusted it but it would not fall into spec it is -1.7 and chewed up the last set. Also the front is out and looks like the whole wheel is moving forwards and backwards. I want to replace the standard worn bushings and get everything sorted out but really have no experience with steering parts. I read a few forums to try and get info but it seems like it is never fully explained. Does the y33 have the king pin bushing, what does replacing the tension rod bushing do etc etc. Is there a kit that I can buy or a part number list? Any and all info greatly appreciated.

Be sure to check the steering rack bushing also. There is only one style bushing avialable now and when you buy two, the other must be trimmed to fit. Unfortunately the SPL polyurethane ones for the Z32 will not fit.

On your tires, a Q45 will chew cheap ones. One must use a good or top tire from a Tier One manufacturer - Michelin, Bridgestone, Goodyear or Pirelli. Order is my preference form experience although it hs been decades since I had a Pirelli mounted.

There are a number of rubber parts under there that need replacing over time. Front tension rods for sure wear out and there are rear ones that also wear out. You need to get a good mechanic under there to diagnose all the issues.

I have a bigger set of 19" rims on my 97' with spacers...I have run Bridgestone 050a Pole Positions and currently running Michelin Pilot Sports. I liked the ride quality of the Bridgestones a little better but the Michelins really ride nice but a bit noisy. I also ran Yokohama's on my older 17" and they were good for 10k and then sucked. Bridge or Mich are the way to go if you can afford to buy them. Get XL load rating for this heavy beast.

Any idea what parts need to be replaced? more specifically in the rear, I want to do it myself and then bring it in to be aligned. What in the rear needs to be replaced and in the front for a 107K y33? trying not to spend money and only replace what is needed, Thanks so much!

Could you possibly give me a reference number from the FSM 2000, page 20, RA section.
