Hi everyone,I have two cars : a 240sx with ka24de and automatic transmission (but the body in very bad shape) and a 200sx with ca18de with manual transmission (but with the engine ****ed up). So, I want to take out the ka24de from the 240sx (without the automatic transmission, cause I prefer manual) and to put it into the 200sx. If you got me, at the end i want manual transmision with ka24de in the 200sx. I hope I was clear (at least I tryed to) For these operation I want some advises regarding the motors changing, if it works or not, if I can put the ka24de with the manual transmision and if it will fit, and everything regarding my problem that I have. I really have to do the changing cause otherwise it doesn't work. Thanx guys ! Tschüß

PS . Here are a pic from the ka24de, cause I am allowed to upload only one picture , otherwise I would like to put the ca18de too, but it's not working.

Ok, this is what I know. CA18det, and ka24de manual transmissions are the same. However, I think the bell housings are different. Perhaps automatic bellhousings are different to manual, but if they are the same, this is what you do:

Take manual transmission (ca18det) and remove bell housing.Take auto transmission (ka24de), remove bell housing, and swap over the other bell housing.

This will only work if bellhousings are the same in auto and manual, if not, then you have to get one. If the spline (gear teeth that hold the pressure plate) is different to the ka, you will have to use the ca18det pressure plate. Also, I am pretty sure flywheels are not the same, so check that too, dowel pins can be removed to see if they line up.

After it's all done, then decide which car is getting the new setup. If the auto is getting the setup (the one w/the engine), then you need to change the pedals, master and slave cylinders over, and continue with some of the guidelines here in nico (sorry, don't know the specifics). If the manual car is getting the setup, then you must change the wire harness and computer over... which may require some cable splicing...

good luck..
