Agreed.

Call me unAmerican, but I HATE the sound of an unmuffled Harley.

And none of this "Loud pipes save lives" nonsense.

Wouldn't say that you're UnAmerican, I'd just say that you actually like your ability to hear .

Oh, about that Honda/4 Banger vs. V8 exhaust notes. There is a HUGE difference. The V8 emits a "low" frequency "growl". WHereas the 4-cylinder Usually enits this high frequency "angry bee in a can" kind of sound. Also, it doesn't hel that the 4-banger guys constanly rev their engines, and even worse, when they are cruising at 70MPH, their exhaust is really loud. Now a V8 exhaust at high speeds, Usually quiets down a little bit.

Tell me this, when a four-banger with loud exhaust passes you on the freeway, and a V8 with a loud exhaust passes you on the freeway, which one do you hear the most from?

9 times out of 10, it's the 4-cylinder.

Oh, and isn't there a noise ordinace. I know there is definitely a limit to the Db level you can produce aftre a certain time at night, but is there a restriction during the day? If so, that would be the reason for pulling over 4-banger

This isn't ALWAYS the case.

You need to hear my 240 with the BRM on it.

Sounds like a 4.6 with a lumpy cam and an attitude.
