I am looking into buying a 1991-1992 Nissan 240sx. I will prob be spending approx $4500-$6000, just wondering if their are any specifics that I should look for when buying this car, ex options, powerplant(I believe there is only one) or any common problems I should be aware of, thanks.

wow thats big money for an s13. If you use the search function it will help a whole lot. Also listen for timing chain rattle. The only engine available in those years you noted is the ka24de. Don't get heads up as it probly won't work. :batman

edit: You posted it was canadia while I was in mid post. Ignore the begining of my post.

Altiman, you don't need a degree to be a repossessor. I was in finance and then got into the wild side. Do yourself a favor, get a degree in something worthwhile and stay away from repossessing cars. Seriously.

No problem [Zero-S].

I was pondering either Business Management or going into some type of Engineering, probably mechanical. Business seems to be more appealing me to at the moment.

If you have the type of mind to be an engineer, do that. I wish like hell I could be an engineer. Not that good with math though.

Well, first off, sadley I will have to drive it all year.....but, I do not think that will be much off a prob.

This year I would like to buy a full exaust system, (hi-flow cat, custom welded pipe and performance exaust....somehing not ricey and not "tinney" sounding if you know what I mean) also a could ait intake and mass air flow would be nice. I may buy rims this year if finaces permit it. However, next year I would really like to drop and SR20DE j-spec into the car. Depending again on finaces and how difficult a job it is. I hav no idea if the motor mounts line up or what other hardware I need, I know people who have used that engine but only in NX2000's not any 240's.

In other words, other then rims, and possible paint job, I am more conserned(spelling?) with a nice perfomance+everyday drive ability more then anything else. Overall esthetics, would be in the future....

I hope that helps, if you guys need more info let me know, and thanx for the help :)

I meant cold AIR intake...also I would like to know if any of these parts rom the 240 would then mount on the SR20 motor.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the actuall specs of the SR20 motor, becuase I have heard the J-spec has around 202hp but my friends could not tell me for sure., thanx again guys....

hey altiman.. if you like business and engineering.. do Industrial Systems Engineering. what is ISE? its a business degree with the engineering pay.what do we do? theres 4 different fields, but if you like business.. thers the management systems side where you get to choose how many people should be hired, their schedule, or how much of what should be kept in the inventory, or should buyin this piece of equipment be worth it.. etc. it applies to every type of business out there..

bad side.. theres alot of people in engineering doing ISE. competitions hard but then again, it seems like everybody got their MBAs.

good side.. the starting salary of some of my friends was in the mid 50s.. thats good money.

I finished reading a few posts AGAINST the SR20det, not sure what my standpoint is because I do not know the full specs of either, SR20 or ka24. I was wondering what the specs of the SR20DE are compaired to th SR20DET.

People also say cost is a problem...my friend said he could get me one for $600-$800 Canadian... I do not kno if hat is good or not..
