So I was walking to my car after school today and I realized that my car needs something, it needs to be a little lower. Now I know that 240s already have bad "tire mileage" and lowering them wont help that but cant you buy camber plates to fix that? Anyways, I want to lower my car without coilovers, they are too pricey and too hard for a daily driver, soon to start delivering pizzas, though I might just use my brothers P.O.S. sentra for that, What is a decent spring that will lower my car but not cost me a fortune and wont be too hard, maybe even not have to get new shocks? I dunno, but I would like to lower my car, make it handle better than it already does and spend the least amount of money possible. Uhh, I know this is what everyone wants and I did search, for like, 8 mins. could someone give me some basic info on lowering 240s?

If you want to be able to lower you car cheap and get the look you want, you can lower it about 1.5 inches at the MOST and not have to worry about camber but if you do any amount of drop you will have to replace your shocks and struts.I would recommend Tein S-Tech springs with KYB GR-2 shocks you can get this setup for about $500 or under total.Or if you want some control go with KYB AGX shocks which will let you control how stiff the shocks are.The only thing is that you can NOT put lowering springs on your OEM shocks and struts or you will blow your shocks b/c they arent built for that. But you CAN lower your car 1.5 inches and not worry about camber you will only need an alignment.

I JUST installed my KYB AGX shocks with the Tein S-Tech shocks and I LOVE them! The way I see it, if later I want to lower the car more and I can buy the camber adjustment equipment and just get lower shocks (easy to replace and cheap). If you have the AGX you can always just buy lower springs and buy the camber adjustment equipment to lower your ride more.

I'd probably recommend replacing the upper mounts while you're changing shocks. Make it a one time deal and your alignment shop will clean up the rest. Save your self alot more later if you plan on getting the camber plates (get that) and do the alignment once instead of having to get it done again when you put in plates.

I agree:bigthumb Camber plates are a great upgrade and worth the extra money/time to install. Dont think twice, just do it.
