Too many parts are needed, a transfer case, drive shaft differential and complete new brakes and suspension system, just to name a few. From a financial point of view, I see little, if any reason, to do an upgrade vs buying one already set up for all-wheel-drive.

If you really have to have this, then check out this article. http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/129-0 ... nversions/ Just be prepared to shell out lots of money and time.

i was thinking since more people when they to rb26 swap change oil pan and go with rwd rb25 trans and ditch awd rb26 trans.

i have a z32 and rb trans bell housing can be swap, this is what i thought for parts

r32 front half cut try to find it without engine and transmission to, why half cut well to get r32 sub frame and front suspension.

r32 gtr front suspension and sub frame
front gtr diff
awd gtr transmission

i wonder if welding the front diff on to sr20 upper oil pan, would the weld hold?

ITS JUST AN IDEA THAT I HAD WHILE I WAS ASLEEP..

I've seen s13s and 14s run rbs with all the rb gear. Alot of fab work but feasible.

With the SR, it would be easier to change to a FWD type front suspension, then use the GTi-R transverse setup... The bay is big enough for it.

Not that I care for transverse AWD setups, but it's already AWD and doesn't involve completely reinventing the wheel. lol

If I recall correctly, the Full-Race S14 with AWD GT-R drivetrain was a six-figure project.

Then again, if you're good enough to replicate their work, you'll be making well more than six-figures annually as a fabricator.

Keep an eye out for a GTI-R, they're available periodically.

so using a fwd sr awd trans in a s14 to make all s chassis would be the best option? lol it was a idea i have to look futher into this..

Well, it's hardly the "best option"... But I mean essentially making the chassis FWD, engine mounted sideways, reworking strut towers and maybe frame for the FWD suspension... Then just a custom drive shaft out to the existing rear drive line.

Actually, it's probably as much work as putting the GTR RB AWD stuff in... But at least you're not trying to weld a front diff onto the SR oil pan (which probably won't work anyway).

The transverse AWD GTi-R equipment just seems easier from my fabrication point of view, it's a ton of work either way.
A lot of engineering work.

I'd say let's see a couple engine swaps / restorations first... Hardly a project you want to try to tackle without $30k in the bank and a lot of fab skills.

Not trying to crush dreams, just applying my 25 years of experience. :)

you can maybe try using the drive train off a Nissan pulsar GTI-R. thats the best bet, but you will have to rock the engine sideways.

those cars already come AWD with an Sr20det, andthere actually alot better then the RWD Sr20's sense nissan went balls out on that engine sense the pulsar did actually compete in rally racing
