it would have to be done by a body shop to be sure that it is cut properly and so the peices have a good water seal when attached back on. But remember that on 240's the roof is a load bearing part of the car and the car will suffer from chassi flex by cutting out large chunks of the roof :)

s13 convertible suffer from this problem.

we don't suffer from body flex though. i can lift my car from the front subframe, and the doors and hood will open juuust fine. in fact, i landed my car in a ditch las weekend (no damage thankfully) and the car had such little flex that even when it was teetering with it's rear off the ground, no body groan and the doors were fine.

If I had a pic and scanner at work I'd show you my roll cage that I had to customize for my convertible. I welded a single 2" bar from the windshield to the main part of the overhead bar, It tightened up every last bit of body flex along with the strut bars and it kinda looks like t-top

It would be much easier to take a convertiable and make a hard top with a targa or T top section.

This is such a waste. There are so many people including myself who have looked very hard for coupes w/o sunroofs due to the fact that there is less chassis flex and the fact that they don't leak water. I got a good deal on mine and I'm sure there are a lot of people cringing over the fact that you are going to kill a good chassis. Go get a 300zx or a Camaro if you want a t-top because it's obvious that you don't care about your s13.

I think you should follow what that one dood said in your other thread and sell your car to a real 240 enthusiast. I mean first you ask about shaving your door handles then body kit, and now a t-top... It seems like you don't want your 240 the way it is now. Might as well sell it and get yourself a 300zx or MR-2 with Heavy T-TOPS so can save yourself some money.

For non-drifters like me, who cares about the chasis. We are jsut everday drivers.. Its not that we don;t like the appearence of the car, its just we want to spruce it up. Like you comb your hair in morning. Spruce your **** up. I mean, black's car looks good like that. Just some people just like to drive the car and look cool.

yes the roof is important for drifting...because when you make your car slide ilke that...it puts lots of stress on the car's chassis...and when the chassis is not very strong...it will flex...when the chassis flexes, your car will be less precise in it's movements and it will not be able to keep itself "on the ground" as well, thus lowering it's limits...

long story short, your car will suck
