The Stillen exhaust was installed by Stillen. Fitment on the back was not that good, it was hanging wayyyy to low. I had that adjusted later at a custom exhaust shop.

Was this a product spec error or just an installation error? Should anyone getting this exhaust have to be concerned about the fitment? I'm just asking because I was planning on putting this on myself in the backyard, but if it needs to be tweeked in order to fit, then I'm just to going to take it to an exhaust shop.

My car is an 09. The exhaust was originally made by Stillen for the 06-07 models. I let Stillen install the exhaust as a trial, so they did not charge me anything for the install. When I went to pick up the car, i was not carefully observing the car (they parked it with the back towards the fence) and did not notice how low the exhaust was hanging. I did notice this once I got home, so I took it to the custom exhaust shop and they lifted it up.I am not sure if there was something wrong with this exhaust's fitment because it was really made for 06-07 and mine is an 09, but whatever it was, it was not right. To be honest, kind of disappointed by Stillen that they would do this, but whatever, its done right now.

Got mine today and installed it. Very simple install. I had one bolt as anyone knows who works on cars its always one but I pulled out the bolt grip socket for it and that done it. It only took me a hr to complete with the help of my 9 yr old. I like the sound and Ill post clips up when I can have my wife do some drive bys and all that. Its very mellow and I like that with no drone and my MPG went up from 19 to 22.8 on the highway. Im kinda glad I canceled the Megan and went this route. Just took some quick snaps for those who would like to see the system.

The stockers are HUGE!!

I kinda like the round tip in person.

New2Import,

Does the Stillen exhaust stick out more than the stock exhaust?

Thanks

With the aero kit it fills out the bumper more than the stock. The stock sit more inside the kit. The Stillen sit flush with the kit.

Yes I did see you. Nice ride. I can never get the camera or the wife is doing something or my son has basketball games to get it done. Hopfully this weekend. Sound was pretty weak at first but after a couple thousand miles it really sounds nice for the M. Its not to loud and not to quiet. It matches the car well IMO. You can forget about MPG once you start hearing the exhaust note. Foot just gets heavy lol... I picked up around 2 mpg from the start but now its back to where I started but I think I need to Seafoam and that will come back along with picking my foot up. Power wise it has made difference from the feel. Car really picks up at midrange now. I race a BMW Z and the M really impressed me. SLP told me to add the intake but everyone here claims its bad but SLP said it will even make a difference with the exhaust. Im doing that after I get back from vacation. Yes Im on staggered 20s. Im a Muscle car guy at heart so I love the staggered look. Here are a few pics
