I want a new motor in my '81 280ZX. What's the best?

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

I think an Sr20det would be sweet. But I've heard an L26et is better. Does anyone know? Help would be great!

an L28ET would honeslty be fine.

you could always go Domestic V8 though.

VG30DETTRB26DETTSR20DET2JZ-GTE1JZ possibly?K20CVQ30/35 possibly, but likely not as much as above4G633S-GTE2ZZ-GE maybe4A-GE possiblyB18

That's all I can get off the top of my head at the moment. Tons of good choices though.

An LS1 is pretty sweet though, plus most domestic V8's have tons of aftermarket support. I've never been much a fan of domestics but the LSx series engines are pretty sweet.

Just for the record, this forum is for non nissan motor swaps...not that it hurts to keep here. But you'll probably get more jabs to go with a V8. I mean, they are cheap power and fairly easy to drop in.
