I just mailed off my absentee ballot yesterday. I have been eligible and registered to vote for 18 years and never did it. Like a lot of people I was disillusioned with the dog and pony show. The only candidate in my lifetime that moved me was Ronald Reagan. I would have voted for him but they don't let 7 year olds vote. If I had been a Dem I bet they could have got my name on the rolls somehow though. This race is a pivotal one in American history though, I think all the partisans can agree on that and are equally concerned their ideology will be pushed into obscurity not to wield influence for a very long time. I could not sit on the sidelines this time.I was surprised at the several other candidates on the ballot. Other than Darth Nader I didn't know them. We seriously need a strong third party in this country to shake things up. It is my hope that moderate members of the Democrat and Republican party frustrated by the kook fringe that have infected each will coalesce into a new third party. I think most Americans are not hard core Liberal or Conservative and they don't have a true voice.

I'm glad you took part in the process. Thank you for that. It doesn't matter who you voted for as long as you took part and voted for what you believed was your best choice.

As for third parties, please don't wait for someone else to do it for you. Stuck to the top of this forum is a link to a bunch of third parties from all over the spectrum. The only way one of them is going to get strong enough is when people get involved instead of just hoping someone else will make it strong enough. There are a few of us here that are already registered and involved in third parties.

Not important. Disclosing how you cast a secret ballot is strictly personal choice.

Sure it is. Speak your mind TMS. Or should he just cling to his gun and Bible?

I voted for that wacky gal from Alaska, and the old angry guy she drags around with her. American politics needs a kick in the balls and she likely has a nice set of boots for the job.Honestly I have done a dramatic evolution this go around. I have been quite pessimistic in my life about politics. I have always seen it as a sideshow put on for the entertainment of the masses. A distraction while the true power brokers run things behind the curtain. I still believe that but I no longer believe I can shirk my duty to do everything in my power to change things.I spent the entire day yesterday looking at schools that offer masters degrees in political science and studying my home state's congressional and house districts. I think I could take some of these chumps jobs if I went after them.
