ok. I am looking for some pretty specific details that I have yet to see in any thread that ive read. ok I have a 97 240sx obdII obviously, I want to swap an sr into it and I want an s14 sr, how do i know the difference in the sr's from 95-98, I want the easiest one to install. I assume that a 97 sr from a 97 silvia would be the best, but i dont really know, thats why im asking. i want to stay obdII. thanks im ready for flames lol.

OBD2 cars are just a hassle to do, so it's tough to find stuff on those.

However, the best advice I can give you is to take the service manual for the motor and the one for the car (make sure you're as accurate to the year as you can get), and cross reference the main harness -> dash plugs. You'll pretty much need to do a bunch of re-pinning there.

Hijacker is dead on correct. One more option, send your wiring harness to Wiring Specialties and it will be ooooh so easy....I have a 95s14 w an S14Sr20det.One look at the harnesses and i just went "meh, id rather pay"
