I just installed rocker arms on my s13 blacktop using this guide.
http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/sr20de ... uckyd.html
It ran good for a few days, then today i noticed a slight knock coming from the head. I can only hear it at idle, what could cause this? When i search everything says ether it has to do with VVT which my motor doesnt have, or to bleed the lifters.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

If the noise is only slight, and at idle, it's typically the HLA's....

Even if you messed the shims up, it won't make any more noise that stock.

LIfters, VVT solenoid, injectors, timing chain, take your pick... The SR is a noisy engine. lol

This is the point where you need to upload a video with decent sound quality. Without that, all you can get is 1000 posts like Seishuku's.

I forget the size, but Lowes should have metric studs no? Just stud it, and put a nut ontop.

OEM ones are possible to find (just search under a 93 SE-R Sentra 2.0), but once you get the thread pitch, you should be golden.

thats probably whats causing the clicking noise as well (anything's a possibility). but just be sure you dont over tighten the studs if you decide to go that route. dont want to dig into that aluminum head now would we? lol hope you get it workin' right man.

Update, a bad one...
knock has gotten worse, i unplugged the coil pack while it was running, because i read that the rod would just sit there, and not fire. And if the noise went away, it was a main bearing. the noise did not go away on any of them. but i sounds like rod knock IMO. Will make a video tomorrow for sure.

Oh and i found bolt, that was hardened. It was a little to long so i put a extra washer on it. The lengths were the same after that.

How would a ROD just sit there?? That makes absolutely no sense.
