I'VE GOT THREE PROBLEMS

HEY EVERYBODY,I got three problems on my 92 maxima. There's a ticking noise from the engine sounds like lifters knocking but I don't know for sure. It does it everytime I start it up when it's hot or cold.Second, every time the ticking noise comes back the car smokes real bad out the tail pipe.And finally, when I take off in 1st and 2nd gear, the car hesitates like it wants to stall, shakes a little bit then take off real hard. It does it in other gears also but mostly in first and second.Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Have you checked the oil sounds like you are close to an engine seizing. You may have a warped piston. Not to many things tick in the engine and are eaisly fixable. Deffanitly check that oil... if there's none in there your engine is close to toast...

The hesitation may be a clogged egr valve. I am no mecanic but I had the same problem in my girls car and a nev egr valve fixed that issue. The black smoke could be from burning oil...hence the ticking.

The oil is fine. Changed it about a thousand miles ago, and it's still full.If the EGR was bad, wouldn't the Check Engine light come on?

It would if it went bad but if it is just clogged it may not, like I said I'm not a mechanic just going by a similar problem I had with a totaly different car. The ticking may just be some rocker nock try running supper for a few weeks that may resolve it. Shell V-Power is the best... very expensive tho.

Do you happen to know anyone in your area with a Nissan Consult (Nissan diagnostic tool)? That would be your best bet trying to narrow down the probable causes.
