I need money and want to get rid of it. Ive had it since March and was wondering how much would you think it is worth and how much I should let it go for? Also, is there anyone here that might want it? Its not a for sale thread, im just wondering what it could be worth since Ive never heard of an AWD CA transmission.

AWD CA transmission is very popular you find them on the Japanese pulsars. ITs useless for most of us as we use RWD CA's except for a select few. Only person I could think of who would possibly want it is Rafi but he's got a CA supplier and lives in Canada. Your possibly SOL to sell it in America.

I don't think there is a USDM chassis that it will work on. If there was, you'd still have to source the rear sub-frame, driveshaft, ect. It may have also been computer controlled. If it was you'd need all of the associated wiring, computers, sensors, ect.

You will never be able to move that transmission unless someone just wants to experiment. I say snatch the gears our of it and junk the remaining portion of it.

Dee, just for my information, what is the difference in gearing in the AWD transmission vs. the FWD transmission?

Don't know the technical gearing ration of the AWD unit, but the gears are a bit shorter than the FWD and I think it has a slightly longer final drive # as well.

The guy that I know that wants it is experimenting with the AWD. I actually bought the AWD with the engine from Rafi.. Waddya think the transmission would be worth to sell to a friend for an experiment? $200?

I was thinking about ripping out the gears but if I could sell it all, I'd get more than just the junk metal change

Take the transfer case and the bellhousing off it and take them to the scrappers. The gearset and gear case will bolt onto any fwd ka24/sr20/sr18/ca18/20 manual bellhousing. The gearbox code for the fwd is RS5F50 a/v, v means lsd, a means open diff. The gears are slightly better/stronger than the fwd ones. You will need to remove the ring gear from the centre diff in the box and put that onto the fwd diff. You could possibly sell it to somebody with a stanza, i think thats what they are called over there

I sold you the engine, but the dam AWD transmission was a freaby lol, it is useless to any one, I had two of them and I gave one away for a friend for experiment.

As Dee said, If you can get 200 dollars for it, I would be impressed, and if not, just take the gears and stick them in a FWD transmission.

Good luck,

Ive been lerking around here all along. ahah

Well the cars running great but not moving once again. After 3 months and maybe 3000 miles the clutch disc spit another spring and damaged the entire clutch disc. This is with the 500+ mile break in for the new bearings in the motor and such. I did not drag race it or auto-x it once in the 3 months. So with no offence to you and your clutch guys i ordered a Clutchnet set.

Damn man, very sorry to hear that. As a matter of fact, it spooks the hell out of me now that you've said that. Well, when you get your new clutch in, let me know how that works for you.
