well my turbine is a .58 and i start spooling at 3K and hit my max (7psi) at 5200!! I think the .81 would be a little big, you would never build boost. Im a semi noob to this as well but i think that may be a little big for our rpm band.

yeah sounds quite big.

275-300 crank hp a t3 would work well (60 trim, .63ar exhaust)..minimal lag here

another popular choice is the t3/t04e 50 trim (also .63ar hotside)..this turbo is actually a bit more efficient, and will put out 300+

from teh looks of it, it doesn't seem like a T3 turbine housing. T3 turbine housing has like 5 bolts in a sort of rectangular partern that leads to the down pipe

this looks like a standard on center T4 turbine housing which is a 4 bolt housing at at the downpipe.

I have the T4 .81 AR on my KA right now...great turbo if you love 2000rpm of useable power curve. And no, you can't swap it to make a T3/TO4. The T3 housing is the exhaust side...so you'd be going backwards.

Stick to a T3 .48 or .63 exhaust side.

If you go with a T4 on-center turbine, I'd probably stick with a .58 or .69 A/R with a N or O trim wheel. Anything larger and you really better be looking to make some serious horsepower.

Also, to swap to a T4 turbine, you will need to swap the wheel to match as well. You cant just swap the housing onto a T3 turbine. Lastly, if you have an existing kit using a T3 turbine, swapping to a T4 housing will alter the location of the turbo and you'll likely need to modify or get some new piping to match. If you're looking for a bit better flow, you can play with different T3 turbine housings with different A/R's. Make sure the trim of the new housing matches your existing turbine's trim though.
