Long story short, I was backing into the garage, the passenger door was open. Hit the garage door, threw the window all off track. The door still lines up and everything, the window just got knocked off the track. So, I took the door apart, and after about and hour or so of painful labor, I got it back on track, but apparently some of the guiders came off.. I think.. Well, the window now goes up and down, but it doesn't line up with the door when it's up. It sits in place when down, but needs guiding from your hand to keep it in place when going up. Needs to be slammed to get the window to shut. Doesn't seal properly. Anyway- you guys have any idea what I should do? I really hate fooling around with those damn windows. Big PITA, but I really dont want my window breaking on me or anything. Any help would be appreciated.. Should I just take it into Nissan or something?

Who exactly repairs car windows that are off-track for a living? Any general mechanic?

I doubt the S13 is interchangable with S14.. But how does one go about replacing it? I've never ventured into the repair/replacement of windows/accessories.. $61 from the factory.. so I don't wanna replace it if I don't have to. Could is possibly be anything else?

its not hard to repalce. chances are though that you damaged the guides on the regulator. it shouldnt take longer than 30 min to replace. take the door panel off. then take the unbolt glass. take it out. then unbolt regulator from door frame. replace regulator, reverse for install

or you can try ebay.

For the s13 at least, I had to replace the whole assembly - which only ran about $50 or so when i did mine. You sort of just unbolt everything connecting the window, put that somewhere, then unbolt the whole window assembly & put in the new one.

I don't see any for kouki's on ebay right now, but yea, good luck.

Yeah, I searched eBay and couple junk yards online.. I figure I might as well bite the bullet and buy a brand new one.. No risk in failure in a brand new item.. typically..
