Bone stock 1996 Infiniti I30t 5-speed vs my bone stock 2002 Maxima SE automatic.

Can I get some opinions please? What's everyone think? You think my hp gain can still take the 5-sp tranny?

Who's gonna get OWN3D?????

Maxima will take the I30. It's a given.

you got challenged did you ? was it the superbird wing or the celebrity hub caps ?

the way to tell whitch is faster is at the strip , a light to tell you when to go and 1320 feet of minivan-free roadway

the max shoud nail the win light , but the 5 speed in the 130 will make things interesting

Hmm,

Interesting especially since you both have the same engine, albeit yours is a much more developed version.

Not many people can make full use of manual and even if he does..

I remember the 96 I30 w/ the 5 speed was 6.7 sec 0-60 in 1996.I am not sure what the publishesd numbers for the 2k2 MAx are, but weren't they better?

Also... your engine is in perfect tune...How many 96's even if a well maintained I30 are gonna be in perfect tune, with a clean throttle body etc?Not too many.

Also I have driven your car,, it is very strong...

My money is on you, if his car is stock or close to it.

Fred...:)

PS: Make sure he joins here and comes to Sundays meet.

yeah, fred is right, your car is VERY strong Tony. You'll most likely beat him on the strip or on the street. Just remember to be carefull about it and where you do it. That new maxima likes its wheel spin too, so try to keep it at a minimum.

It's not the same engine! Same block, but not the same engine. The maxima has a VQ35DE and the I30 just has a VQ30DE. 255HP vs. 190HP. 65HP is BIG difference.

Torry,

I remember the specs and nomenclature very well...;) , I still consider them essentially the same engine due the -35 being an evolved version of the -30.
