I feel so bad, I've een feeding this car regular gas because of this damn Sandy. On top of that, from gas statios I wouldn't even blink at at any other time. It hurts. Will these stations bring in the premium along with the regular.

$3.93? Is that in NJ Freddy? Cause gas in Albany is like $4.20+ for the last 9 months (for 93).

yes this is outside the Holland Tunnel on the NJ side. I think we have about 12 gas stations and 2 of them are Sunoco.

before the storm Sunoco 93 was about $3.93 and now after the storm it went up to $4.46 a gal.

Barrel of oil has gone down in the last 3 weeks to about $85

which means gas prices should be going down quickly but as always they don't.

Funny that my town has at least 4 Sunoco's.

Ahh I see. NJ always has a significant difference in gas prices even on a normal day (at least 10 cents sometimes). I always fill up on the Garden State or in Mahwah (if I go down 17) when I go to Philly.

Supply and demand, as long as there is a gas issue, whether in NY or in NJ, the prices will stay high in the areas that "can". In my area in Orange County, NY gas prices are pretty "normal" for the area, about $4.15 for 93. Thankfully no lines in my area.

got gas in NJ last night $3.85 for 93 @ sunoco....could just be my mind playing tricks on, me but i think sunoco's gas burns slower in my car vs exxon, that exxon gas acts like its spilling out....anybody notice that or nah?

On the bright side, isn't the car Premium Recommended, not required?

I just filled up my tank today. Gas light was on. 3.598 a gallon. 57.93 to fill it up. Not too bad. I usually go to hess station and it lasts me 7 days or less. I went to shell today to see if what happens.

Been running mine on 87-89 at Shell for the past 5+ years-no problem..?

If there's any "abuse" it's self inflicted.

PS I also change my M1 oil at 12k intervals...

I think it is recommended for the M35 and "required" for the M45. IOW, I thought the manuals said someting to this effect:

M35: Use 91 octane or higher for optimum performance
M45: 91 octane or higher is required to prevent damage to the engine; if it is unavailable, a lower grade can be used, but you should drive gently while using it

ETA: OP has M35, so recommended is accurate, you have M45, so if you've been using regular and had engine failures, maybe oil consumption wasn't the only culprit.

I once used 87 octane, but performance suffers dramatically. Felt like I was driving a Honda :(
