Well here is a story, kinda sad and funny. My girl was at school, and he was asking her for a dollar, well a car drives by, and the guy makes the comment "Oh man, Its a 180sx, I cannot wait till i buy one" Well my girl being slightly knowledgeable in that catagory(from listening to me) corrected him by saying it was a 240, 180s and silvias didnt make it to the states. Well, I guess he kinda felt dumb, being corrected by a girl, he makes a bet and that it is a 180, she laughs, as it goes by, what do ya know, 240sx. So anyways he is feeling kinda dumb, and trys to question her on engines(which she could care less about, she luvs the look of the car.) and he feels quite dumb when she has more knowledge them him on the SR20.

Story 2, my girl is out with her friend, and someone asks her if the SR20DET was turboed, well she says yes, and then someone butts in and says its not. All she does is laugh. I guess that T doesnt mean ****.

What is this coming 2? Can we really have people this dumb wanting to own a beautiful machine such as ours? These ppl are like Super Street subscription rejects!!!

Anyones, I hope it entertained you, it did me :)

Ignorance i tell ya, ignorance to the truth.

I have so many of those people commenting on my car, i just ignore them. Yesterday at work i had some guy ask me if my car was an accord. How the hell do you get that??!? I laughed and said "Close."

It's not so much as ignorance as it is the feeling that one must prove that he knows everything regardless to what one really does.

And people always mistake my car for a probe. I admit, they are similar, but if you look at the two side by side, they are almost completely different. I.E.: My dentist's son pulls up next to me in his Audi TT(180hp, fwd, but still a TT) and starts revving the hell out of his engine. This is an extremely long red light, at the intersection of like 20 lanes, so I roll my window down, he rolls down his gangsta rap, and I ask him if he's trying to prove something. His reply: "why do you even bother driving that slow piece of schitt? You know that Ford's are the crappiest cars made, right?" Puzzled, as I haven't yet realized that he thinks I have a probe, I ask if he wants to prove his superiority, and he says "My TWIN-turbo, V-FIVE, FOUR wheel drive will slaughter you." The light turns green and neither of us has any burnout, but I just literally jump ahead and he can't catch up. What a Fukking loser. The only way I can gather why he would think all that stuff about his car is because under the hood, on the engine cover it says turbo 5V, cause the four-cylinder engine has 5 valves per cylinder.I test-drove the exact same car right before he bought it in Birmingham, that's how I know that it's the lowest model TT that one can buy

I had a former class-mate roll up in an SI. He complimented my car by saying, "Nice MX-6" I appreciated the compliment and all, but how do you mix the two up?

Here's what irks me: I own the 240. I do research on the 240. I know plenty about what I can do to the 240(lack the funds). But of course, I always have some idiot that doesn't know a thing about 240s try to tell me what to do with mine. The most commonly heard things are: "You should get the SR20."-Like I didn't already know about it! "Those things are too heavy, that's why they're slower than my Civic DX."-It's only about 3000lbs! Since when is that so terribly heavy?

When the Silvia was roaming the streets NA I had a big RX-7 oil cooler right up between the headlights and chumps were always claiming the car was turbo. This conversation was repeated verbatim every Sunday night.

Chump; "dude that car is off the hook yo"!Mad; um, o.k. thanksChump; "man, you got Naws"?Mad; uh, no.Chump: "I hear ya I hear ya, you got a big turbo though right"?Mad: It's a Q (nonturbo model)Chump: "you ain't gotta play me yo, I know it's turbo"Mad; Really, and what would lead you to believe that?Chump pointing at oil cooler; "you got an intercooler right there"Mad; you mean with the 3/4" hosesgoing into it? that's an oil cooler you jackass

Chump; yeah whatever manMad; here's you sign

The best one though was when I took it to the Drag meet. I had the hood up in the pits icing down the intake and these two Americans walk up and start looking at the engine. They are looking directly at the heatwrapped HKS header when one says "what kind of turbo you got"? I just stared at him for a minute, that's the day I gave up trying to correct an idiot. I just said "full normal" and went back to check my tires and weep for the decline of humanity.

Yes, a lot of people do mistake probes for s13 hatchbacks, and they do look similar...but, people forget, 240's had that sleek design since 1989...ford obviously thought it looked good enough, and so copied almost the same design when they made their probe "over" in 1993....

Freak, when you were at 3500 at 62 mph, are you sure you weren't in 4th gear in that Si, lol? My friend has a '00 si, and its geared much higher than my 240, as in, same gear, same speed, his is at a lower RPM...I kinda like that my 240 is geared low, and the gears are close-ratio, gives you that racy feel hehehe....Remember that the si's redline is at like 8000RPM...the 240's, and I'm sure the focus is at 6500
