I was heading back ot the office, Friday night, and ran upon a guy in a Lightning cutting through traffic. He was probably heading to the drag races.

I ended up in front of him in a 40 MPH zone. I was running about 55 ,and decided to slow down. He cleared traffic and caught up with me. When he pulled along side, he looked at me and nodded. I counted to 3 and punched it. The Q jumed out 1/2 car lenght, and held it's lead to about 100 ,when he started creaping past me. We had to slow down for merging traffic.

He was very suprised I was able to hang with him. I bet he was expecting a quick kill.

I know street racing is against the law, and it was dangerous, yet exhilarating.

I think all those have is a titan v8. Not sure though they are still pretty fast though ones ive seen. Still seen dodge R/T trucks smash on them

The SVT Lightning has the same block as the Ford GT. Up until the Daytona Ram, it was the fastest stock pickup in the world. However, trucks are usually geared for more torque at lower speeds, so I can see why you hung with him. Still pretty impressive.

Supercharged 5.4. If you are talking about the most recent Lightning, then that's pretty odd because he should have pulled considerably. I've had several run-ins with them in another vehicle of mine and they are not at all slow even in stock form.

there ok but generally the rt doges and the srt10 ram dominate them. Str10 ram is currently the fasted production pickup truck.

Yeah, they are quick off the line, but once rolling, they have trouble with a G50.

Throw in a few corners, and it's bye-bye to the Lightning.

I really doubt that guy was acutally racing you seriously.

A full stab of the throttle and he would have been in front of you.

It's a similar thing I do when I have a faster car I just drop a gear and hold the throttle partially down as I run to peak.

The SRT-10 Ram is also the most worthless vehicle ever designed. MPG lower than a Viper, still handles like a truck, and is NOT designed to tow ANYTHING.

I don't know about your SVT run in, but a late model one ate my lunch in my 86 NA 300zx.
