When I first started out on NICO a couple of years ago I will admit I wasn't fond of the format. In fact it looked Ancient compared to computer forum I used too frequent that uses Invision Power Board, But I got used to it and I loved the old format. Same with the Q at first I was shallow and only cared about how it looked (I always though my 1991 Q45 look like a 1994 Impala). But its not the looks that matter its the little things that make up the car and forum.

When I first started out I asked questions that have already been asked and some scolded me and others were nicer about it. But I learned by looking at the old posts, going to the old Yahoo board (Horrific format), Making friends with Mike (Goody90Q45), Lino (Lino), Brian (Maxnix), Heath (Q451990), Wes (Elwesso)... and By reading all the stuff Brian sent me. Now some may members might not like certain members but I try to get along with everyone.

And I know I have pretty much no right to ask this because I have been a member for 2.5 years and only have 5000 posts. But I want to see some change around here because already a NICO original has given up on NICO. I can see Q45Tech, Maxnix, Q451990 and others are tired of answering the same questions over and over and over....

I want there to be a Pinned Topic that links to documents, Pictures and more made by Q45Tech, Maxnix, Lino and I. Therefore when someone asks something that has been answered already 10 times over we can say "look at this topic". Now by doing this I suppose we take a chance in that they say well screw this I am going to another forum. Well I say thats fine because what other forum has the Scammer destroying ability (AZhitman) and combined knowledge of thousands of members among many other fantastic things?!?!?!

With this done we can insure we will have a cleaner forum with far less already answered questions. And we should have more traffic because only WE (AS far as I know) have this much stuff put together (That will be in the topic).

I am willing to do all I can to help if you guys are willing to make this topic.

If we get rid of the 2009 NICO calender topic then there won't be yet another pinned topic to take up more space.

Credit for this Idea goes to Lino, Maxnix And Q45Tech and I

So essentially a FAQ thread? I like the idea. Q45.org sort of serves this purpose, as well as the articles section - maybe we should start a FAQ thread and when it's looking good we can sticky it.

edit: I just noticed we have this at the top... any ideas how to make it better?

I think my topic should be pinned for Idle Stumble issues for 97-01 fgy33's because I went through almost every check point throughout the fsm and even listed values outputs. After reading all of the past threads, I think my thread would be valuable to new members with these issues.

And Paul, knowledge isn't based off of post count buddy...I don't have a lot of posts, but I sure do know A LOT about Q's...more than the average.

Also, we have the articles/FAQ section for just this purpose... I dont like having any more sticky topics than we have right now... :)

Nightrider... if you want to compile that thread into some sort of article, I'll make sure it gets made into an article with full credit to you...

that should work.. if you have any pictures, it would probably be easiest to just post it into a new thread here and then ill deal with it... If its just text, you can just email it to me.

Wait what happened here?

I am talking about putting together a lot of documents, pictures, videos and more for people who own a G50 Q45. Sure there are some things in there that reference the J30, G20, M30 (Funny things about that car!) and other brands of cars. With this pinned no longer will a noob come and as a question already asked (99% of them). Therefore this will help noobs from being stomped to death from the pro's. But if they do we simply point them there and wait for them to read it or until some just give up and answer the question. Sure members come here for free hoping to get an answer but wouldn't it be better if they found out that they drive one of the best cars Nissan ever out out (G50) Q45?

What good is knowledge if you don't share it/communicate it right? Not saying anyone should be on here 24/7 just saying post count just means you either helped people or screwed off in the general chat section.

And Wes/Heath do you still want ALL this stuff in one article or can you just link to it till I can make it easier to read?

I am talking about putting the stuff in sections especially the one document called "The Q45".

Paul i think the easiest thing here is going to be to split up this section
http://www.nicoclub.com/infiniti-technical-articles

we can probably break it up there, with different sub-headings like "suspension, engine, drivetrain.....etc". Unless you want to try and do this on your own hosting, this IS the easiest way... All you have to do is create a thread and we can make it into an article... We will host any images used in the article.

I'm sorry but noobs get bet up on the 97-06 models too. So you just plan on getting information together for just the first gen? Well Wes, I will type up my thread and email it to you so you can put it in the article section. I can probably get pictures together from the fsm. I will email it to you once its done.

Most of the questions on this board for the moment are directed to the G50 (1990-1996 Q45). And I have am a G50 guy and can only seem to find mostly information for the G50 Q45. But like I said there are sentences in the 300+ pages written by Q45Tech. And make no mistake this will not happen over night because there is one document I found on the old Yahoo board that is 10 MEGABYTES!!!! Now thats a lot of stuff to organize if you ask me and I don't see any sort of reimbursement in it for me, other than people will learn thanks to Q45Tech, Lino, Maxnix, NICOclub and I.

And on top of the 10 MB document there is another 128 pages which I got doe reading for the second time. And a 70+ plus page document that is even better organized. I will try to do this ASAP but no promises.

I am sorry for the FGY33 (2nd Gen) and F50 (3rd Gen) owners but I don't know much about those cars. And I would be more worried about the F50 (2002-2006 Q45) having problems than the FGY33 (1997-2001 Q45's). I am sure if anyone knows much about those cars they can do the same thing as me, provided they can backup there facts.
