I have a 90 240sx. In 5th gear @ exactly 4000 rpms the engine just gives out. like the clutch slips but it doesn't it just won't let me give it gas. and when i drops back to 3500 it lets me push it again. any knowledge about this????

Yeah, the ecu steps in at 112mph and cuts the fuel.

Ouch, I don't think my motor will even go that far, if it did, it would blow up!

i tune ecus. i can help you all out with that. i have been working with the ka24e ecu for a while now. its fairly simple to chip them. and if all you want is the govenor removed, then i think i could help you all out.

Well I honestly can say I know nothing about "E" motor 240's , So I hope revving them is not that big of a deal. I actually bought my DE 240 with a JWT ecu so I already didn't have a speed govenor and my rev limit was 7000 rpms which I hit for fun. Very often. lol. I could easily hit 120mph in fourth.

Anyway I needed a retune so I acquired a stock ecu. Stock rev limit and speed gov sucks. I found out the hard way. Coming from not having one to getting stopped in my tracks with a dead gas pedal everytime I got over 112ish.

i rev my e to 7000. power dosent drop till shortly after 6500. and i have a stock cam. and yeah stock ecus suck. ive hit close to 120 also in 4th. 5th is stupid speeds, at which you need an aftermarket speedo to even see. i dont go much past 120.

So you tune the ecu's? how can i get rid of the speed govener at 115mph and the rev limiter? Also can i get more hp somehow?
