Ok, I got tyhe CA running off the temp sensor, it sounded great!! Then, got my piping, tried connecting the MAF, and it was hard to start, and revved to 3,000 rpm, which sounds like the MAF. but, the wiring is correcte, I have checked it acouple different times. Then, Dee was trying to tell me how to read my ECU. I didn't get it, I was tired, and wanted to go to bed. But now, the engine doesn't fire at all. I have fuel, but the engine isn't sparking. and, when I disconnect the crankangle snesor, the EGI fuse buzzes. So, The ECU must be in somekind of safe mode, andyone have any answers on this? I get my exhaust this week hopefully, and I want the car ready!!

I would hope for the sake of your ecu that your car is grounded properly. I can't stress this enough! I still would like for you to try and get your ecu lights to start cycling. Check all fuses and relays by moving the relays around by matching their colors. Make sure that the crank angle sensor still has control of the fuel injectors. Smell your ecu and see if you don't smell something cooked. Very important to ground that engine! Remove the ecu fuse in the engine bay fues panel and rotate the car's engine. The reinstall the fuse and call me and let me know if the lights function after using the process I explained to you...

Ok, I'll do that. I need to do some more ground points. I was going to call you tonight, Dee, but you've given me a good list! I'll work on it. The ECU doesn't smell burned or anything, but I'll work on the grounding. And that EGI fuse buzzes again when I unplug the Crank angle sensor.

Im not sure whats wrong but i know i grounded the block and the intake mani and the fust block near the battery. WHats wrong dee??!!!

nab911: hanging by the wires is a bad idea, you could be causing momentary shorts..

Ok, well, I grounded the heck out of it!! 4 gauge ground strap, and evey ground cable on the harness is grounded. But, when I took off the exhaust manifold and turbo to install the SR turbo elbow, I found that the oil line into the turbo was cracked. So, gotta convince one of the guys at the HVAC shop to help me out; I don't want to buy a pipe flaring kit!!

Apparently you guys got something hooked-up a little wrong or don't have enough stuff hooked-up. The little orange wire on the dash/instrument connector harness is very important. If you have any of those wires hooked-up wrong, it will give you dramas. Most importantly, that little orange wire with the grey dots is of the most importance as it is the wire that keeps the computer powered-on while cranking. Check it and make sure that when turn the key to start, it receives a 12volt signal. If not, you've blown a fuse or relay and it will because something is hooked-up incorrectly.

i will never forget the first time we went to crank my car over. everything was wired up, i was a little skeptical about our wiring skillz though, but my dad kept telling me it would be fine. i got in the car, put the key in the ignition and my dad said: "so how much can we get a new ecu for?". i was like, "oh, gee, thanks dad for your final vote of confidence". contrary to popular belief though, i turned the key and it went "rrr rrr rrr vroooooom!!". yes, my car started on the 4th turn after sitting for about 6 years.

just wanted to share, i am a little bored right now.

Ok, well, worked on it tonight. I think the ground is my problem; even with my 4 gauge strap, the tach started goign hatywire again. So, I connected the wires to make the Car front batteried(lol) again, but I need to charge my jumper box overnight. Gonna give it another go in the morning. BTW, a brake line from advance auto works great as an oil feed line.

Ok, well, my Crank angle sensor doesn't fire the pistons or anything anymore when i removed it, and tried turning it. maybe I fried it? I dunno. looks like I will probably be searching for a new CAS.

I seriously don't think it's the CAS as they rarely go bad to the point whereas they can't fire the engine at least at 180* rotation. ECU is the culprit. Suspect it. You won't be the 1st and won't be the last.
