I noticed just recently that while driving on the highway at 70 in 5th gear I accelerated somewhat hard to get around a truck and I felt a hesitation. I did it again looking at the rpm gauge and noticed the rpm gauge jumped from 4500rpm to 5500rpm and then it came back down to about 4500 rpm before accelerating. Seam like it was slipping! I did a little more punches in different gears and it does it in 3rd,4th,5th,6th just about the same way and at different rpms. I do not notice it in 1st or 2nd or when accelerating from a dead stop. I did notice that I use to be able to break the rear wheels loose pretty easily going from 1st to 2nd but now 2nd dosent feel as strong as it did. Anyone notice similar problems or have any thoughts on what it is or could be. I only have 8000 miles on my 2007 350z touring edition. I took it to the dealer and they said they could not duplicate the problem but when I picked it up and drove it still the same. help!!!

bring it back to the dealer and deand that you go for a ride with the technician. I'm a tech for mercedes benz and that the only way we can find noises sometimes or other such things. If they give you trouble with that just tell them you will get in contact with nissan corporate. That will hurt their customer service index and then they will be all yours.

I do have an update in that I went for a drive with a certified z rep and they are now going to throw in a new clutch and pressure plate. He noticed the problem right away and when we got back to the dealer he went right in and ordered the parts. My ? , why are the regular certified mechanics for nissan not able to identify a clutch problem? Well either way I am now satisfied after several attempts to get this fixed..

Note for people having clutch problems with an 07 Z, go for the drive with the rep. It is a problem and will get worse if not corrected, he states. They wouldnt even let me drive the car after the test. The throw out bearing he says is normal to make a chattering sound and the clutch pedal getting stuck to the floor under hard loads happens in alot of new high performance cars and is in fact the way new clutch systems are designed. Told me to let the motor do the work and not the clutch. Do not downshift the car to slow it down. told me to learn the cars sweet spots (shift points)and I should never have a problem. He told me that the car is designed for road courses and not the drag strip, and if I am looking for that type of driving style than he recommended using an aftermarket clutch system.

Good to here you got the problem fixed. From what he said it looks like the clutch to the floor issue is just to protect the clutch.
