Or my temp gauge is seriously messed up...

One minute it's burning up, and the next it's normal. Me and my freind were just laughing watching it go up and down. And this was at Idle, at night, with the hood open. Didn't even feel that hot either.

I don't get it. Any thought?

theres a black plug next to the coolant temp sensor. that sends temp signals to ur instrument panel and it may just be loose. mine did that, except it never went above my engine temp. hope it gets u a step closer to solving that problem!

mine is ka24e btw, but ur motor components should be similar

check your grounds! I had a bad ground and it caused my gauges to wig out. I could hit the brake pedal and make the gauges bounce. I know the symptoms aren't the same, but I would still check your grounds.

dude that would worry me a bit. I have been getting a little above the middle point on my temp gauge lately. I didn't notice anything out of ordinary until my friend pointed out I was losing coolant. Then I check my resovoir and it was below minimum line. Still haven't figured out where the leak is coming from. It'll only leak if I turn off my car for a long period of time. It only leaks some days too, weird. My dad thinks its an internal leak from the waterpump. Lucky I don't havee to comute too far.

try turning your heat on when that happens, that used to happen to me, and it would blast cold air with the gauge up then all of a sudden really REALLY hot air, and the gauge would go down FAST, leading me to beleive there was air in the system so i bled it out and its been kosher ever since.
