so...i was sitting here at the computer just now and heard my car unlock. i thought that's odd...i didn't press the button. so i go out to the car and unlatch the door, open it, and the alarm goes off...HA, WELL HOT DIGGITY. I swear God tapped me on the shoulder and said, "check the toggle switch under the dash"...sho'nuff, the switch is snapped off, and the computer is tripp'n out.

HOW DO I FIX THIS SO MY CAR DOESN'T GET STOLLEN?????

-is it possible to replace the switch with a switch from pepboys or something, or does it have to be the factory switch?

-do i have to turn undo the battery to replace it so i don't fry anything or accidentally reprogram something?

daaaang people...don't let the word "God" scare you away, sheeesh. If you know something about this, a response would be awesome.

AND NO... God didn't tap me on the shoulder...the problem was easy to figure out, DUH!

If there's a switch under the dash my vote is for not a Nissan alarm. Want to post pics of your switch or the remote for us?

Yeah, unless I've missed something, that switch is NOT factory equipment.

the switch under the dash was knocked off by me foot...and it turns out that the switch was supposed to be a button(i guess they work differently). so the switch was replaced with a button and the wires reconnected, and now everything is actually working propperly!!

the prev owner must have damaged the button before, and then had it replaced with a switch accidentally...

lol...the little things

thanks guys!!

It's still an aftermarket alarm though. If it's that easy to find the button I can only imagine what it looks like behind the knee bolster.

eh, Lowjack is easy enough to find, it's almost always installed in the same spot. I still remember looking at my GF's alarm as she was saying she had lowjack. My response was "I know, I already found it." You have the key transponder though and that honestly works better at keeping your car.
