I have no idea what happened but i got done wiring in my Sirius radio today and went to turn on my radio...and it's completely dead. it's got power to the unit and it's grounded as well we tested it numerous times with the volt meter but it just seems like the head unit gave up the ghost...any idea on what this could be? or what could cause this? all fuses are good and there's power everywhere. in all the work i've been doing lately i haven't touched any radio wires and it worked about a week ago..

I dunno what to tell you man. If you're POSITIVE that its getting power and its still not turning on, then you have a bad unit.

How did you wire it up? Did you hardwire the unit in or is it just plugged into the lighter? If you hardwired it how did you do it?

Wait...is the Sirius unit dead, or is the actual head unit dead? Now I'm confused.

try pulling 12v from somewhere else in the car maybe? I have ghetto rigged stuff in my cars to make sure it works or to get it to work for a short amount of time.

My mistake..my actual headunit is dead..the Sirius is fine..it just has nothing to broadcast to due to the fact my radio has died. we tested the connections at the wiring harness and it had ground and power =(

Did you test it with the key on? Did you test both power wires? Check the fuse on the back of the radio, and also check the radio fuse in the fusebox. If all that works out, test it directly to the battery.

Ok so i just tested it all again and gave it 12v directy from the fuse box and it came to life! i've got power on the ground and i've got power to the unit, just the power to the face/memory on the 'battery' wire isn't connecting for some reason..so i guess i have to track down why
