So today I was looking around for the 1piece driveshafts, and i noticed that are different ones...

I have an N/A 2+2 Automatic transmission... ok, so here is the weird part. Or maybe not so...
But it looks like the driveshaft i have on right now was welded where the DS meets the transmission. As in this DS was a different one and they welded a different yoke to it, like with a TT yoke and the DS being the one from an NA engine.. So then i was checking online and i seems like the TwinTurbo transmission has a bigger yoke. Which looked familiar to mine, so could i have an N/A engine with a TwinTurbo transmission?... or maybe im missing something...idk.. any info or help would be greatly appreciated.

Im going to put my two sense forward, Im not sure if 300zx TTs come in auto and stick or just stick (VR-4s were just stick, and thats what Im familiar with) Now, from what I remember with working on 6G72 and 6G72TT was that the transmissions were different. VR-4s had a special transmission (Getrag) and only were 5-speeds, the SLs were auto/stick and had the same transmission which you could mate up to the same engine (NA). So, long story short.. if 300ZX's are the same way, then no you couldn't have a TT transmission mated to an NA engine.. but if 300ZX's come in automatic TT, then yeah it would be the same. lol I'm damn confused now haha. I hope this helps? And I really hope someone who KNOWS clarifies lol.

lol... yea, i was lost too..

seems like i have the yoke of a TT and they just welded it to what i believe is just the 2+2 since it would be longer...?.
idk...i'll take some pics tomorrow and post them..

IIRC the trans end si the same ont he n/a and the TT the auto might be different but the manual trans should both have the same slip yoke, the diff end is differnt as the n/a uses a U joint at the rear asn the tt uses a cv joind ont he driveshaft which is actually really unusual

and all driveshafts are welded toghether somewhere but yours might well be a hackjob

so I'm confused, do you have a 1 piece or are you looking for 1? fwiw z1 sells shaftsin every possible configuration, or you can take it to a local driveshaft shop and they can repair rebuild or scretch make a shaft for you

well, i was looking at some pictures of different type of driveshafts. i found a site that makes two diffrent ones for automatic transmission 1 piece, for a TT 2+2 and N/A 2+2.

the shaft in the bottom has the pinion flange to work with the R230, the slip yokes might look different but I'm pretty sure are the same, all the TT's got the R230, the n/a's got the R200, we of course didn't get the 2+2 ttt int he states but I guess they figure there are enough floating around to offer the long shaft with the r230 flange
