hey guys,

I just pulled my subframe last night, and took it apart today, but i ran into a problem, I can't seem to get the bolt out of the bottom of the wheel hub bracket, see pic 1. I remember reading that i need some special puller tool for it but I don't quite understand why... Anyone have a trick to get the control arm out of that thing?

see below:

Also, I didn't think and I didn't take the 36mm bolt out of the center of the hub, so now i'm stuck with the axle attached to the hub bracket assembly. What would you recommend as far as getting the axle off? Should i clamp the hub in a vice and do it that way after i get the control arm out?

cheers for any help!Marko

There are 2 ways to seperate the spindle from the lca.1) Use a balljoint seperator/pickle fork. This will destroy what appears to be a good condition boot. Use the front balljoint off an 89 Sentra as a direct fit replacement.2) Use a mini-sledge or heavy hammer to rap the spindle where it meets the lca. 2 maybe 3 good solid raps should break the connection free.

When I swapped to Z32 uprights, I put the nut flush with the end of the bolt and then hit it with a mini sledge. Problem solved.

Good luck on the axle nut.

thats what i did, worked great if anyone else wondered. The axle i got off by putting the hub in a vise and then undid the nut, tada.
