Well at least part of it anyway. First ill give a little backstory on my problems . Ive had issues with my rb20 swap since day one , misfires, running rich, just random bs that comes and goes with no apparent cause. Well i just ordered some new parts for the engine in hope of clearing up the issues. i installed the parts only to not have the car start at all, so i decided it was time to give everything a good inspection and chase my gremlins. this is what i found....

As you can see the printed circuit is completely fried and lifted from the board, but the douchebag i got my swap from i guess decided to put his VERY inferior soldering skills to work in order to sell his swap. I have ordered another ecu to replace this one. Maybe just maybe this was the majority of my problems. I also forgot to mention that this is the ignition circuit that goes to pin 45.

that circuit can more than likely be repaired...just a thought, instead of going out and buying another ECU right away.

He is right, it can be repaired. That trace can be replaced with a jumper wire from the via to the pin of the through hole component.

Also just to let you know when we have a trace burn up, there's usually components damaged as well

When my maf wires melted on my turbo manifold and it burned that same trace and i fix it, mine looks alot better then that but as long as its not touching any other traces its fine but clean that mess that already done up with a simple jumper wire... so go through your MAF wiring and make sure its all repaired correctly and it didnt hurt the MAF itself

Carl: The swap was originally put in by me but i didn't do the wiring it was done by the guy i bought it from. His name is kyle but everybody calls him Kylie. You might know him he's from nc too and drove a black r32 that this engine set came from. i think his screen name on CN is something like WTFGTST or something along those lines.

I went ahead this morning and went into the harness to check things out and quite frankly it looked like a 3 yr old did the work . all the wires were just twisted and taped, so i went ahead and fixed it the right way with solder and heat shrink. As for the ecu i got a REALLY good deal on a BH ecu so im just gonna go that route and keep this one for emergencies(its not the right ecu for the swap, i.e. auto, series one where as i have manual series 2). thanks for the in put guys.

What gauge jumper wire needs to be used to fix the broken circuit? Also Carl if this still doesn't work i will shoot you an email about possibly either repairing the harness or just getting you to do one for me.

Hack job isnt the word , ive been sittin here for over 4 hours going through this harness , wire by wire. i do have a question for you if you dont mind. On the two plugs outside the engine bay, between both plugs i only have four wires being used, wh/pur, wh/blk, blk/rd, and blk/pink. is this all that is used? i thought there were more than four that got used.
